Description

See Note 26. DESC: Small Arms Fire Control System (SAFCS) to be used with the Mk19, Mod 3 Grenade Machine Gun. Requirements are for 20 SAFCS with an option to purchase an estimated quantity of 350 SAFCS per year for a period of 5 years. The production option is an unfunded requirement. FOB is Origin. Oral presentations will be required the specifics will be included in the solicitation. The proposed type of contract will be an indefinite quantity contract. This will be a best value acquisition. Estimated issue date is 31 Oct 00. Estimated closing date is 30 Nov 00 This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c) therefore hardcopies will not be provided. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same. The specification and performance requirement for a laser protection filter array will be contained in a separate classified addendum to the solicitation. In order to obtain a complete solicitation, a facility clearance at the secret level will be required. Laser Protection is a military sensitive critical technology and under ABCA STANO 11493/11494, the United Kingdom is the only foreign country that may receive the classified addendum to the solicitation.
