- Description
- Construction of two 100,000 barrel steel-lined concrete cut-and-cover fuel storage tanks to include coordinating work phasing to minimize impact to existing fuels mission, site preparation, demolition, excavation, construction of fuel storage tanks, pumps and pumphouses, valve stations, filter separator facilities, product recovery system, leak detection system, emergency generator, cathodic protection, lightening protection, security lighting, automatic tank gauging, fire protection support equipment, back-filling; site improvement consisting of storm drainage, electrical and communication distribution systems, asphalt concrete pavement for fire access lanes, and concrete sidewalks; above ground and below ground fuel piping; relocation of the existing fuel transfer line for the Type IV hydrant system; disposal of debris, soil testing, disposal of contaminated soil, testing and commissioning of fuel system, and related miscellaneous items necessary for a complete and usable fuels facility. Construction site is Misawa Air Base, Japan Existing fuel facilities must remain operational during construction. Construction Advertising Method: Request for Proposals (RFP negotiated procedures) using definitive responsibility criteria, best value tradeoff, with the intent to award without discussion to the proposal representing the best value to the Government. Evaluation factors and the basis for award will be set forth in the request for proposal. The estimated cost of the project is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000.
