Description

The United States Department of Transportation's Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA) announces a new grant program. These grants are available to State Agencies to fund projects that assist them in preventing damage to underground facilities. $1,000,000 is currently available to be used under this grant program, for distribution among approved applicants, until October 2002. The Congress is currently considering the President's budget proposal for expanding this grant program. Generally, RSPA will consider a per-project, maximum Federal funding of $100,000. RSPA would also consider projects that exceed the $100,000 cap, if they have broad geographical application or other far-reaching benefit.
