Description

The US Department of the Interior Minierals Management Service/Gov.Works intends to purchase a Cube Model 3, a 6-Degree of Freedom Servo-Hydraulic Exciter System on a sole source basis from Team Corporation, for use by the US Army to test an array of military hardware. The system will be integrated into a multi-purpose vibro-acoustic facility. The 6-DOF system will be configured such that it may be used in a stand-alone mode, in tandem with an existing Team 6-DOF system, and in combination with high intensity acoustic excitation. The multipurpose role and unique environment in which the 6-DOF system is to be integrated mandate several physical requirements. The size and physical configuration of the system are critical parameters. They system must be configured such that it has minimal effect on the acoustic characteristics of the chamber and such that the servos are shielded from the harsh acoustic environment. Extrenal dimentions shall have a nominal footprint of 48"(L)x48"(W)x64"(H) with a moving element with nominal mounting surace dimensions of 32"(L)x32"(W)x28"(H). The 6-DOF system must also be highly mobile to meet the requirement of moving the system in and out of the acoustic chamber. All expressions of interest shall be received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis to be considered by the Government. This date will not be extended. No. solicitation document exists for this requirement. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the descretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government shall not be responsible for any costs associated with preparing a response to this notice.
