Description

The U.S Customs Service intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with BAE Systems, Santa Monica, California, to procure Autopilot Flight Director Systems (AFDS) to support the P-3 AEW aircraft upgrade program. The AFDS will be delivered as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) to the prime contractor. The equipment will be integrated with the existing electronic local navigation system, flight management and display system, automatic flight control electromechanical/hydraulic systems and dual inertial navigation systems to achieve a common avionics configuration baseline as previously established by the most recent USCS configuration (P-3 AEW #7 and #8). This contract will require the contractor to provide technical support, technical data and additional equipment spares. This contract action is subject to the availability of funds. See Note 22.
