Description

NASA/GRC plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for a prime construction contractor to provide labor, materials and equipment to rehabilitate and modify main cafeteria at NASA Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio. The work includes installation of new servery equipment and cabinetry, wall, floor and ceiling modifications, new security grilles, new mechanical exhaust fan and canopy hood, new fire suppression system, new lighting and utility modifications required to support the servery equipment. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Field work is scheduled to start 8-10-01 and finish 12-18-01. A fixed price contract is anticipated. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. [See Note 1]. The SIC Code and small busines size standard for this procurement is 1542 and $17 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is October 30, 2000 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about December 04, 2000. The firm date for receipt of bids, a site-showing and where drawings and hard copies of the IFB can be obtained (at contractor's cost) will be stated in the IFB. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
