Description

L.A. Job Corps is requesting bids for clinical facility contract. Acute medical/clinic care site plus two physicians specialized in the medical care of adolescents and young adults to provide medical services on site to approximately 735 Job Corps trainees. The services to be provided will include two physicians, one is a senior fellow and the other a physician coordinator, not to exceed 29 hours per week for both. Main services to be provided are: 1) Provision of medical examination and health history of each trainee within two weeks of arrival on LAJCC 2) Provision of diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury. 3) Provision of, or arrangements for, preventive immunization and detection and control of communicable diseases. 4) Referrals for specialists and institutional care which includes the successful bidder medical facility, emergency room, specialty clinics, etc. The coordinator will attend pre-arranged weekly meetings with the LAJCC mental health consultant. The coordinator will provide medical staff training as needed per request by the LAJCC. Bids must be received by October 13, 2000. The terms of the contract will be for two years with the option to extend up to three years in successive one year increments.
