Description

Air Combat Command (ACC) Contracting Squadron intends to issue a Request for Proposals for the operations and maintenance of the Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS). ). The primary mission of TARS is to support the U.S. Customs Service, and the North American Air Defense Command (NORAD) in counter-narcotics and drug surveillance missions in support of U.S. national security objectives. The program consists of 11 sites along the Gulf Coast, Southwest and Puerto Rico. This is an unrestricted full and open competition under SIC code 4899. This solicitation will include a base year and 6 option periods. The resultant contract will be firm fixed price, with cost reimbursable line items and will be an award fee contract. The anticipated release date for the RFP is 18 Oct 00, with a due date of 13 Dec 00. The RFP will be made available only on the Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.eps.gov. The RFP can be accessed by following links on the EPS website by entering the solicitation number in the search block on the front page.. Telephonic or written requests for this RFP will not be honored. Once the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review this site frequently for any updates/amendments to any and all documents.
