Description

NASA/KSC plans to issue a IFB/ Request for Offers for Construction Paving of Space Commerce Way Road, Southeastern Leg at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Space Commerce Way will be a new two-lane road that may be expanded to a four-lane road in the future. Clearing, filling and site development is required. It will be approx. 1.3 miles with a fully developed intersection on Kennedy Parkway. The road will have signage, signalization, and stripping, turn around areas and deceleration lanes as required. The order of magnitude for the procurement is berween $1 million and $5 million and the effort shall be completed within 540 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 23411 and $27.5 Million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB/RFO is on or about 10/13/00 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about 11/13/00. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB/RFO. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office 321-867-2802. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. [OMBUDSMAN STATEMENT IS REQUIRED] An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
