Description
The National Institutes of Health is launching e-Portals in Commerce (e-PIC), its new Web-based source system for organizations to register information about themselves, their products and services. e-PIC is an e-business system designed to smartly capture the global marketplace and profile such information in a central and secure repository. The system is designed to function on a Web platform and link users of the system conducting market research or seeking sources of supplies and services to this virtual marketplace. Organizational profile information, such as name, address, business description, etc., and pertinent North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) related information is input on-line, around the clock by registrants, who create, manage and secure their unique passwords and hyperlinked organizational information at no cost. The NIH Small Business Office, serving as the NIH e-PIC administrator, also will use this Web-based tool for a source repository instead of collecting similar information via the SF 129s or through other types of marketing literature. All sizes and types of organizations are encouraged to register at http://epic.od.nih.gov.
