Description

The Eastern Administrative Support Center (EASC) intends to acquire for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Protected Resources Division, contract services with the Maine Department of Marine Resources to perform an assessment of the shortnose sturgeon. The scope of the effort is to obtain a revised population estimate for the federally listed endangered shortnose sturgeon population in the Kennebec River. A minimum of three years of tagging and recapture is needed in order to obtain a reliable estimate. The Maine Department of Marine Resources conducted the first two years of the research which provides the foundation for the current requirement. No contract award will be made on the basis of any quotation received in response to this notice since this synopsis cannot be considered a Request for Quotation. This acquisition is not anticipated to exceed the Simplified Acquisition Threshold ($100,000).
