Description
 The National Institutes of Health (NIH) located in Bethesda, Maryland is conducting a MARKET SURVEY to determine the availability and technical capability of businesses to provide a comprehensive quality uniform program that includes furnishing all the necessary management, transportation, supervision, labor, materials, and equipment required to provide the uniform CLEANING service for the employees. This includes providing RENTAL of uniforms and accessories that are of quality and quantity necessary to present and achieve a unified corporate identity and image. Contractor shall provide a comprehensive program that creates and continuously maintains throughout the contract period a neat, clean unvarying uniform for approximately 400-450 employees. The intended procurement will be classified under SIC 7218, Industrial Launderers, with a size standard of $10.5M. The Contractor shall furnish the following: Quantities stated below are estimates. Services shall include but not limited to, providing on a rental basis and maintaining: [a] A set (22) polycotton shirts (11 long sleeve and 11 short sleeve) and eleven trousers, and two (2) light jackets per individual employee; [b] Fifteen (15) long sleeve shirts and pants and two (2) light jackets for personnel; [c] Thirteen (13) polycotton long sleeve shirts and 13 polycotton pants and two light jackets for personnel. Some uniforms are for high voltage workers; [d] Cotton uniforms for some individuals with allergies (approximately 127) [e] Specialty garments including vest (grounds only), painter uniforms and flame resistant uniforms. Some personnel will have jackets only. (1) Flame Resistant Apparel: Long and short sleeve shirts shall be 4.5 ounce plain weave fabric of 93 percent Nomex, 5 percent Kevlar and 2 percent Carbon. Jackets shall be constructed of 93 percent Nomex, 5 percent Kevlar, and 2 percent Carbon with 100 percent Nomex liner. Trousers shall be 6-ounce plain weave fabric of 93 percent Nomex, 5 percent Kevlar and 2 percent Carbon. Flame resistant uniforms are to be used in the High Voltage area. (2) The contractor shall furnish and properly affix to all shirts various required symbol patches. (3) The contractor shall provide pickup and delivery services at the Bethesda, Maryland Campus and at Poolesville Animal Center, Poolesville, Maryland. Routine weekly deliveries and pickups shall be conducted. The contract will be a firm fixed price (FFP) performance-based service contract. Contract will be for a basic twelve months with four 12-month option periods. Concerns responding to this synopsis shall supplying pertinent information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to perform the requirements mentioned above. Information furnished shall include enough material to allow the Agency to perform a proper evaluation.
