Solicitation number: N00421-00-Q-0632 37 TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT. N00421-00-Q-0632 DUE 27 SEPTEMBER 2000 BY 2:30 PM Eastern Standard Time, POC Contract Specialist, Michelle Thompson, (301) 757-2613. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River has a requirement to procure Aircraft Transportation Equipment. The applicable SIC Code is 3728. This is a notice of intent to request a quote and negotiate with MTS Systems Corporation, 7400 Browns Farm Road, Spotsylvania VA 22553 on an other than full and open competition basis. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation for which proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number N00421-00-Q-0632 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The incorporated document and provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular, FAC 97-10 and Defense Acquisition Circular, DAC 98-01 and Defense change Notice DCN 98-1014. NAWCAD, Patuxent River, MD intends to procure on a sole source basis, 55 KIPS including MTS Hydraulic Grips, Hydraulic System Intensifier, Hydraulic Grip Wedge, Attachment Kit Grip to Actuator, Attachment Kit Grip to Load Cell, oil cooling unit for 30-GPM Hydraulic Supply System 510-30 and Alignment Fixture, 110KIP Capacity. MTS Systems Corporation, is only manufacturer to fit existing hydraulic test machines. The test machines are designed and manufactured by the MTS company. These grips are the only ones designed to fit existing hydraulic test machines. This procurement is intended to upgrade the existing equipment to perform new material evaluation. Award will be made on the basis of low price offeror. Reference clauses 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors Commercial; 52.212-2 Evaluation Commercial Items; 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items; and 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Commercial Items. Delivery is required to FOB Destination to the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD within 30 days after contract award.
