- Description
- R-The Dept of Commerce (DOC) International Trade Administration (ITA) SABIT Program has a requirement for two (2) interpreters for three (3) training sessions. SABIT is managing a specialized program to train managers, engineers and consultants from Tomsk, Russia, The session will be: Oil and Gas September 23 -- October 21, 2000 (29 days), Energy Efficiency: March 3-31, 2001 (29 days). Timber: July 7- August 4, 2001 (29 days). The training program will consist of three (3) four-week training sessions. Training Sessions with approximately eighteen participants (Interns) each. The Department of Commerce will provide at least one week of orientation and training for each of the three Training Sessions. Private sector companies (Host Firms) will provide the remaining three-week portion of the Training Sessions for each group, with SABIT over seeing all training and program development. There will be two Interpreters/ Facilitators assigned to each program. The Interpreters/Facilitators will travel with each of the groups throughout the four-week Training Sessions. Travel costs, lodging and per diem will be provided by SABIT. The Interpreters/ Facilitators will also be responsible for translating, from English into Russian, the program schedule and, from Russian into English, the feedback surveys obtained from the Interns after the training. To qualify, contractor must have the following: 1. Experience serving as a simultaneous, seminar-level interpreter in English and Russian. 2. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in Russian and English. 3. Experience working as a facilitator. 4. Knowledge of or familiarity with vocabulary/terms for: Oil and gas terminology, Energy Efficiency and Timber. 5. Knowledge of Russia and Siberia. 6. Ability to understand and recognize the needs and interests of the host company and the group. The ability to facilitate communications between the two. 7. Previous work experience with delegations of this size. 8. Diplomatic, yet assertive, manner. 9. Ability to translate written material Russian to English and English to Russian. 10.
