Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number N00164-00-R-0136 is hereby issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP). Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-18 and DCN 20000606. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for this procurement is 3679 and the size standard is 500 employees. The Navy requires a basic quantity of 16 each and an option quantity of 9 each SANbox-8 Fibre Channel Switch, QLogic Brand Name Only. These items will procured on a sole-source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1; i.e., only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. See Note 22. The salient characteristics are available for download at www.crane.navy.mil/supply/announce.htm. Delivery is required FoB Crane, IN within 90 days from effective date of contract award. Inspection and acceptance will be at destination. Final acceptance will be within 5 days upon receipt. Offers that are non-compliant with any material requirement of this solicitation may be rejected without further consideration for award. This will be a firm-fixed-price contract and will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The contractor shall extend to the Government the full coverage of commercial sale warranty provided such warranty is available at no additional cost to the Government. Source selection will be based on the lowest delivered price from a responsible offeror offering the exact brand name item specified. The offeror shall provide its Commercial and Government Entity (Cage) Code, Contractor Establishment Code and Tax Identification Number. To be eligible for award you must be properly registered in the Government's Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
