Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for a 10-ton capacity, 40 foot span top running single girder bridge crane, with vendor installation, and warranty. In addition, pricing is requested for the following optional items: Option 1: supply and installation of walkway, full length of bridge; Option 2: supply and installation of auxiliary hoist, 2 ton capacity modifying main hoist controls as necessary for control of auxiliary hoists; Option 3: provision of professional liability insurance for the period of ten years to cover all claims and losses arising from negligent acts, errors, or omissions for performance, nonperformance, and/or failure to render professional services under this order; and Option 4: provide additional one-year warranty on parts and labor for crane and installation (first one-year warranty to be included with crane and installation). The crane shall meet applicable design and manufacturing provisions of CMAA 74, ANSI B30.2, ANSI B30.16, ANSI B30.17, and OSHA Section 1910.179, except where specifically superseded in the solicitation specifications.*****This is a Request for Quotations (RFQ), issued as a competitive, commercial acquisition, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR Part 12-Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Quotations will be evaluated in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.106-2-Evaluation of Quotations or Offers. The Government anticipates awarding one Firm Fixed Price purchase order. This acquisition is unrestricted. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 3536 and the small business size standard is 500 Employees.*****The crane shall be delivered and installed, and all work completed, within twenty (20) weeks after receipt of order (ARO). Delivery shall be F.O.B. DESTINATION, NIST, GAITHERSBURG, MD.*****A SITE VISIT will take place on SEPTEMBER 13, 2000, at 2:00PM, Eastern Standard Time (EST). Attendees will convene in Building 301, Room B117, at NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland, for a brief administrative information session, followed by a tour of the facility wherein the 10-ton capacity, 40 foot span to running single girder bridge crane will be installed. Potential vendors are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit.
