Description

NAWC AD Lakehurst, NJ intends to enter into negotiations on a sole source basis with Thermo Optek Corporation, Franklin, MA, to procure one year of maintenance service for the following: Baird Onespark Optical Emission Spectrometer S/N 3842 and ARL X-Ray Flouresence (XRF) 9400 Spectrometer S/N 0228 part of the Materials Lab equipment. This agreement is required for a means to establish a prompt turn-around repair for the equipment needed to guarantee the proper functioning of the Materials Lab. As the designer, developer, and manufacturer of the spectrometers and their software, Thermo Optek is the only known company capable of maintaining these components. The Government does not own the data, drawings, or technical specifications necessary to produce this system or to conduct full and open procurement. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals must be received within fifteen 15 days. Responses must reference N68335-00-Q-0242. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation package will be available. (SEE Note 22)
