This is a notice of intent to Request a Quote and negotiate with the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) 1452 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 on an other than full and open competitive basis for overall symposium support of the Naval Logistics Conference 2000 event to be held at Norfolk Virginia in November 2000. The organization and support of this conference requires a breadth of naval engineering technical expertise, including all arts and sciences as applied in the research, development, design, construction, operation, maintenance and logistic support of surface and subsurface ships and marine craft, naval maritime auxiliaries, ship related aviation and space systems, combat systems, command control, electronics and ordnance systems, ocean structures and fixed and mobile shore facilities which are used by the naval and other military forces and civilian maritime organizations for the defense and well-being of the Nation. ASNE is the only know source with this breadth of expertise, and as such, ASNE has been identified as the only responsible source capable of meeting the Government's requirements. This will be a firm-fixed price type contract. This acquisition will be processed in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Government anticipates award in September 2000.
