The US Army Military District of Washington Acquisition Center, Fort Belvoir, Virginia intends to award a contract to Anne Arundel County on a sole source basis for disposal of solid waste. The Standard Industrial Code is 4953 and the business size standard is $6 million. The Government shall collect and deliver solid waste to the contractor's sanitary landfill, Annapolis Junction and Millersville in Anne Arundel County. The Contractor shall provide labor, Materials and equipment required for receipt and disposal of solid waste by the Government. Period of performance is anticipated 1 October 2000 through 30 September 2001. The proposed contract is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only source under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
