The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is contemplating a sole source award to Destiny Mobile Media using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR Part 13) for the National Pesticide Telecommunications Network. This project involves the joint promotion of an EPA-sanctioned pesticide information service, the National Pesticide Telecommunications Network (NPTN), which offers expert pesticide information to the general public via a toll-free information hotline, and the "Read the Label First!" message of the Consumer Labeling Initiative. NPTN is an invaluable source of reliable pesticide information but has not been highly publicized in certain communities (i.e., urban, minority, and ethnically diverse communities) and the "Read the Label First!" message is one EPA would like everyone to see and heed. This effort focuses on promoting NPTN in those communities by means of truckside advertising.
