stephanie.curtis@fhwa.dot.gov. The Federal Highway Administration plans
to negotiate a Purchase Order with Brigham Young University to develop
an interface between the Surfacewater Modeling System (SMS) and the
Bridge Stream Tube Alluvial River Simulation (BRISTARS) Model. The
interface will help the user build data files that can be used with the
BRI-STARS Model as well as provide pre and post processing of the input
and output data. The goal of this project is to interface the BRISTARS
Model with the SMS and other existing surface water models to
accurately evaluate the effects of sediment movement through reaches of
streams and rivers that contain bridges. Because Brigham Young
University developed the SMS, they are the only known source that can
successfully develop the interface between the SMS and BRISTARS Water
Models. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date
is on or about September 1, 2000. Posted 08/18/00 (D-SN487940). (0231) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0013 20000822\B-0007.SOL)
