Customs Service (USCS) intends to solicit and award an order for an air conditioning equipment option from American Science and Engineering (AS&E), 829 Middlesex Turnpike,Billerica, MA 01821, for installation on the fifteen Mobile Truck X-Ray (MTXR)units obtained through GSA Federal Supply Schedule contract GS-07F-8897D. The requirement will be processed under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. AS&E is the exclusive supplier of the MTXR equipment and has an exclusive service warranty that would be jeopardized if another vendor were allowed to provide and install the air conditioning systems.
