This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only request, and therefore, a formal written quotation will not be issued. The quotation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-18. The brand named item(s) listed in this announcement have been identified as meeting or exceeding the Government's minimum requirements but are not established as standards upon which other offered brand names will be evaluated. This purchase request was previously synopsized for full and open competition on July 5, 2000, but the Government's requirements have changed and it has now been determined that only items manufactured by Communications and Power Industries (CPI) can meet our specifications. Therefore, the Government intends to negotiate on a SOLE SOURCE basis with CPI. The Television-Audio Support Activity intends to purchase the following: One (1) Ea C-Band Medium Power Amplifier (CMPA), 400 Watt, (1:1) redundant; consists of the following: 2 each VZC-6964A4 series 400 watt C-Band Medium Amplifier without racks; 1 each NCB-1700H, (1:1) automatic protection switch module with two separate inputs, including suitable load, integral RS-422/485 computer interface without rack; subsystem prime power 110 vac; 47-63 Hz, single phase. Communications and Power Industries (CPI) part number VZC-6964R4. Standard commercial warranty is required. Delivery shall be FOB destination to Defense Visual Information Center, March ARB CA 92518-2717 within 75 days from date of award or sooner.
