It is the Government's intention to remove and replace (8) cooling fins of the same size and type on transformer #109, located SW corner of drydock #2 inside the Controlled Industrial Area of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The contractor shall by responsible for removing approximately 1723 gallons of oil from transformer and storing oil while job is in progress which will require a secondary containment for the stored oil. The transformer shall be refilled with transformer oil by filling the transformer with minimum of (10) passes through a heated/vacuum/fuller earth filter. The contractor shall add contractor provided inhibitors to the oil to bring it back to .3% by weight approximately 51 to 55 pounds of inhibitor. Replacing transformer fins may require a contractor provided crane or boom truck. This is a Simplified Acquisition Procedure. The SIC code 1629. The related small business size is $27.5 million. This solicitation is a small business set-aside. Site visit arrangements will be included in the Request for Quotes package. The Government intends to issue this solicitation through the Internet. Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be available on or about August 10, 2000 via the internet only.
