This sources sought synopsis clarifies where work will be performed, at Cherry Point North Carolina, and requests information needed by the Government prior to release of any potential solicitation. Details follow-please read this entire synopsis. OFFERORS WHO HAVE NOT PREVIOUSLY RESPONDED SHOULD RESPOND TO THE QUESTIONS CONTAINED (BELOW) IN THIS SYNOPSIS. This is not a request for proposals,and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The Naval Aviation Depot (NADEP), Cherry Point, North Carolina, is seeking sources capable of providing Technical Data support services. Currently, the Government in-house workforce is performing the services. It is intended to perform a cost comparison, pursuant to OMB Circular No. A-76, in order to determine whether a private sector or government source should be the performing activity. Accordingly, a contract may or may not ultimately be awarded as a resultof the study/cost comparison. If a contractor is selected as the performing activity, an award will be made in accordance with OMB Circular A-76, in conjunction with all other applicable Government and Navy acquisition regulations. Personnel of the performing activity (i.e. selected source) will be required to pass a specified background check, however, this process is not the process associated with obtaining Department of Defense Security Clearances nor as involved. In addition, the selected source is required to be International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 (1994) or IS0- 9002 (1994) or ISO 9001 (2000) certified (registered) in accordance with Raad voor Accreditatie (RvC) AND ANSI-RAB accreditation requirements by the date set for receipt of initial proposals (currently estimated at 28 November 2000).
