passing lanes to the existing road, and 2) resurface the road with
crushed aggregate. Construct or reconstruct twelve passing lanes; 6
that are 30 meters long with 8 meter tapers at each end, 2 that are 24
meters long with 8 meter tapers, 3 that are 15 meters long with 8
meter tapers and 1 with 15 meter length and 4 meter tapers. All passing
lane widths will be 3 meters added to one side of the road at marked
positions along the road. Approximately 7 trees will have to be removed
to construct the passing lanes. Unclassified material will have to be
excavated from 4 turnout sites. Excavated material should be used in
base layer construction of the passing lanes. The location of the
passing lane construction on Palmer Creek Road will be from kilometer
9.5 to 11.1. The road will be resurfaced with crushed aggregate at a
depth of 0.15 meter and width of 5 meters the length of the road, 11.1
kilometers from Resurrection Creek Road junction to the Campground.
Theexisting road surface shall be scarified 7 mm deep then bladed
smooth before placing the new crushed aggregate surface. The road
ditches on each side shall be cleaned and reshaped to restore original
condition. No government material source is identified. Contractor is
responsible for furnishing all materials to construct the features.
Construction debris and material not used in constructing a feature is
the responsibility of the contractor to dispose of off the National
Forest. All equipment shall work from the existing road surface to the
extent possible. The project is located near Hope, Alaska
approximately 88 miles south of Anchorage near milepost 6 of Palmer
Creek Road ending at the entrance of Coeur d'Alene Campground. The
estimated start work date for this project is 092500. The contract time
will be 365 calendar days. Estimated price range for the project is
between $250,000 and $500,000. If you would like to receive a
