This project consists furnishing materials for and construction of seven sub-projects at the Begich, Boggs Visitor Center. These subprojects include the following: 1. Widening an existing road intersection, including excavation, placement of approximately 9 tons of crushed aggregate base course, and placement of approximately 16 tons of asphalt pavement. 2. Repair of an existing road, including placement of approximately 54 tons of crushed aggregate base course, placement of approximately 20 tons of asphalt pavement, placement of approximately 198 square meters of riprap, and construction of approximately 92 meters of concrete curb. 3. Removal and replacement of approximately 253 meters of concrete curb and gutter. 4. Reconditioning of an existing aluminum handrail, including installation of two new posts, and welding new work to existing work. 5. Construction of concrete surface drain in an existing parking lot, including removal of existing asphalt and placement of approximately 53 meters of 1-meter wide concrete surface drain. 6. Seal coat and striping, including seal coat of approximately 13,769 square meters of asphalt pavement and painting of approximately 2814 meters of 100-mm wide striping and other minor striping and painting. 7. Site improvement work at an existing site, including removal of approximately 121 square meters of existing concrete sidewalk, construction of approximately 62 square meters of concrete sidewalk, construction of approximately 108 meters of concrete curb and gutter, placement of approximately 7 tons of asphalt concrete, and placement of approximately 542 square meters of riprap. Begich, Boggs Visitor Center is located at approximately mile 5 of the Portage Highway. Portage Highway is located at approximately mile 78 of the Seward Highway, approximately 49 miles south of Anchorage, AK. The estimated start work date is 092500. The contract time will be 240 calendar days. Estimated price range for the project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
