J -- FULL PMI AND REPAIR SERVICES FOR MAILING EQUIPMENT SOL IFB 521-087-00 DUE 091800 POC Joanna J. Belcher (205) 933-4492 VAMC's, located in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, AL, both require full on-site preventive maintenance inspection (PMI) and repair services for each stations Ascom Hasler Mailing Machine (Birmingham machine model 335AS4; Tusaloosa model KEEN4035) each with a Champ Weigh System. Additionally, for Tusaloosa VAMC only, same coverage for a PFE International Mail Processing machine, Model Auto 1 Plus with Folder/Inserter. PMI's for all equipment at both stations are to be performed at six(6) month intervals, December and June. The PMI's are to be scheduled three (3) days in advance and be accomplished within the first five (5) days of the inspection month. PMI's will include but may not be limited to: Visual inspection; Calibration checks; Electrical checks; and Performance checks. The repair services must include all parts, which fail for any reason, that are necessary to maintain all equipment in operating condition, in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations. The Contractor will be responsible to respond to service calls within two (2) hours of notification and be on-station within eight (8) hours. Service calls for both stations will be five (5) days per week, Monday through Friday, Federal holidays excluded. Hours of work will be between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.(8 hours per day). Specific contractor reporting procedure requirements will be required at each station and will be strictly enforced. Bid sets may be requested by fax at (205) 933-4489.
