combined Synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. The invitation for bid
document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect
through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-19. This is a 100%
set-aside for small business procurement. The Standard Industrial Code
is "3679". The small business size is 500 employees. The Department of
Veterans Affairs, Austin Automation Center (AAC), Austin, Texas (AAC)
intends to procure the following cable assemblies: 1) 175 each of a
DB25 Male/female 25 foot long fully populated, 2) 175 each DB25
male/female 2 foot long fully populated and 3) 350 each DB25 male/male
50 foot fully populated. All of these are RS232 cable assemplies and
shall be constructed using 24 AWG low capacitance shielded paired
cable, there shall be twenty-five conductors inside a CL2P (Plenum)
rated jacket for installation under a raised floor in our computer
room. The ends of each assembly should be terminated with the connector
type and gender as specified above and shall be shipped with screw
locks installed. Delivery of these items shall be no later than 10 days
from receipt of a VA purchase order. Delivery Address is: Austin

shall be in writing and can be mailed to the attention of the
contracting officer or faxed to 512/326-6028. The following FAR clauses
apply to this solicitation: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors,
Commercial Items with the addendum FAR 52.216-1 Type of Contract --
"The Government contemplates award of a firm fixed price contract
resulting from this solicitation"; all Offerors will be required to
provide a completed copy of the provision FAR 52-212-3 Offeror
Representations and Notifications-Commercial Items andwith addendum,
VAAR 852.219-70 Veteran Owned Small Business; FAR 52.212-4 Contract
Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items with addendum FAR 52-219-6 Notice
of Total Small Business Set-Aside; and FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and
Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Order-Commercial
Items. The Standard Commercial Warranty is required. Offers must be
submitted within 7-days from the publication of this notice and should
