Command intends to award a firm-fixed-price delivery order to Bell
Helicopter Textron, Inc., P.O. Box 482, Fort Worth, TX 76101-0482 under
Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-99-G-1554 for H-1 technical services to
conduct a study. BHTI will study one crash damaged UH-1N, two UH-1N and
ten HH-1N aircraft that are in storage to determine the cost, amount of
work and equipment necessary to bring each aircraft up to minimum
standard for induction into the "UH-1Y" remanufacture production line.
The study will include, but is not limited to the following; Material
Condition, Defense Armament System, EW Suite, ANVIS-7 NVG HUD, NVG Ext
Lighting, COMNAV Block Upgrade, AN/AAQ 22 NTIS modification,
Searchlight Relocation, MA-16 Inertia Reel Replacement, NTIS VCR,
Transport of aircraft to vendor, Sustaining engineering, and GFE
required. BHTI is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the
H-1 helicopter. The period of performance for this order will be 60
days. This procurement is being contracted on a basis of "other than
full and open competition," and this synopsis is for informational
purposes only. Any firms interested in subcontracting opportunities
