Mr. Jeff Grogan, jgrogan@technautics-tampa.com. Note: This
announcement modifies the announcement that was published on August 3,
2000 @ 16:41, submission no. 482016. The United States Special
Operations Command (USSOCOM) is conducting an analysis of alternative
(AoA) study on long range, commercial, broadcast dissemination
capabilities. Such studies require collecting market information on
material capabilities that industry has developed, is developing, or
will explore through research and development (R&D). Specifically,
USSOCOM is looking for new technologies and concepts that would address
opportunities for dissemination of data over long distances to foreign
target audiences. The intent of this RFI is to obtain market survey
information on the availability of systems or capabilities in the short
term (next three to five years) and midterm (the next 6 to 10 years)
timeframes. Material alternatives should address the dissemination of
audio and visual information, using future communication capabilities
and waveforms, and possessing common user interfaces consistent with
commercial, broadcast industry devices. In addition, technologies and
concepts that fold into the military's plans to be less manpower
intensive (unattended sensors/remotely piloted vehicles),
self-sufficient (low/no maintenance) and multi-platform/ multi-capable
are highly desirable. Finally, alternative technologies should possess
transmission security features to minimize vulnerabilities to
intentional and unintentional communication interferences. This RFI
seeks this information over the next 45 days. This RFI assures that the
AoA considers all potential materiel solutions to resolve deficiencies
in long range dissemination capabilities. Information should be sent
to the following address: Technautics, Inc. Attn: Mr. Jeff Grogan
