amargrave@usgs.gov, amargrave@usgs.gov. The U.S. Geological Survey,
Biological Resources Division, Columbia River Research Laboratory,
5501-A Cook Underwood Road, Cook, Washington, has a requirement to
purchase, on a sole source basis from K-LOG, BusGovt DivGG 800-B, P.O.
Box 5, Zion, Ill 60099-0005, the only source able to provide the
following stand alone computer workstations: These workstations will
have a corner, diagonal, computer location with lowered keyboard shelf
or drawer. The privacy walls will be attached to the desktops.
Desktops will extend to either side of the computer. Each unit will
have two file drawers and a desktop drawer. A hutch design will allow
additional storage at each work site. Private and semiprivate office
space is limited. Spaces are not standard dimensions and need to have
component systems that can be arranged in a variety of configurations
to fit the space of the employees. Accessory components that provide
additional desktop space is required to fit employees involved in
purchasing, research, and administration. The workstations cannot be
any more than 5' on each side of the 90 degree corner. The workers will
sit diagonally to each other rather than facing the wall or each other.
The triangular shape of the desktop is required to accommodate the
large monitors used on the computer equipment. Solid wood furniture is
required and not particleboard that can cause emission problems in
older style buildings. For all of the above-mentioned reasons, K-LOG
meets our requirements. The workstations are needed by September 2000.
