63 -- LIBRARY SECURITY SYSTEM SOL 00-0216 DUE 081000 POC Sandra Souders, (301) 713-0854 63 -- The U.S. Dept of Commerce/NOAA/NESDIS/NODC/LISD has a requirement for the purchase and installation of a radio frequency library security system at the NOAA Central Library. A radio frequency system is necessary due to the existing configuration of the library circulation desk and entrance doors. This security system will protect printed materials, audiovisuals, electronic media, etc. through attachment of sensors on each item and a single aisle sensor at the entrance to the library with a radio frequency detection field. The required system will be activated by radio frequencies that will not interfere with nearby computer equipment or heart pacemakers. The provider of the requested library security system must meet the following requirements: 1) Manufacture and install a sensors' radio frequency security system with an 18" clearance from computers and the entrance; 2) Provide a security system that will meet these requirements: a) Match existing NOAA furniture (charcoal gray); b) Height no taller than 64 inches; c) Weight at 15 lbs. per sensor; d) 110/220 VAC; 50-60 Hz power source; e) Chrome plated steel material; 3) Custom design and supply security tags that operate within the required frequency tolerance of 9.5 and will include the NOAA logo and the words "NOAA Central Library" in black ink. 4) Provide detuners for checkout procedures; 5) Provide security tags for video cassette tapes, cd-roms, floppy disks, etc.; 6) Provide one year warranty on parts and labor; 7) Capability for future annual maintenance; 8) Provide nationwide service to enable future installations at other NOAA sites. Interested vendors are invited to submit information, as to their capabilities and any other pertinent data along with a cost proposal, to the address above to be received no later than 15 days from date of this notice.
