Husselbee, 978/318-8420 This project consists ofmaintenance dredging,
using mechanical or hopper dredge methods of approximately 4,100 cubic
yards (includes 2,900 cubic yards of overdepth) of material from an
approximately 500 foot long by 400 foot wide section of the channel in
the Piscataqua River in Newington, New Hampshire and Eliot, Maine. The
material to be dredged is primarily sands and fine gravel. This section
of the channel was last maintained in 1991. Debris and boulders are not
expected to be found. The existing channel is to be dredged to -35 feet
Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW), with allowable overdepth to 37 feet MLLW.
All dredged material is to be removed by mechanical methods and
disposed of by scow. Disposal of dredged material shall be at a
riverine disposal site approximately 3,000 feet down stream from the
area to be dredged. Water depths at the disposal site exceed -50 feet
MLLW. No work at the disposal site is required. The estimated cost of
this work is between $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00. Work shall be
completed within 90 calendar days of a notic to proceed. Solicitation
shall be available on or about 8/11/00. Prospective bidders,
subcontractors and plan rooms are required to self-register their firm
