Suite 918 Falls Church, VA 22041, is seeking information concerning the
state of commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS), biometric products. The
purpose of this RFI is to invite vendors of biometric products to
submit profiles of their products to the BMO for inclusion in a
BMO-maintained list of biometrics vendors and products. This list will
be provided upon request to Department of Defense (DoD) organizations
for information only, and will not be used to guide, constrain, or
otherwise influence government procurements of biometric products. All
information received will be treated as public knowledge. Vendors
should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. The
focus of this RFI is on the following types of biometrics products: 1)
those that enable biometric authentication in addition to or in place
of username/password authentication on stand alone computers or in
client/servernetwork environments; 2) sensor hardware for biometric
acquisition; 3) products that enable the use of biometrics for facility
access control; and 4) biometrics for use in internet applications,
such as e-commerce. Smartcards are of interest here only to the extent
that they play a role in an integrated solution involving biometrics.
Respondents are welcome to provide information in the form of product
brochures, press releases, technical specification sheets, reprints of
trade journal articles, etc. In addition, vendors are requested to fill
out a product profile for each product they wish added to the BPO
listing. The template for the product profile is provided below. All
