SOL WASC-0-1265 DUE 080800 POC Melvin Fondue (206) 526-6043/FAX (206) 526-6025 Request for Quotation -- - The NOAA Ship David Starr Jordan based in San Diego, CA requires a new net reel to replace the existing one, manufactured by Marco Marine, Dwg H-33350. The general size and net capacity of the new reel is to be the same as existing. The weight shall not exceed 5000 pounds empty. Specifications as follows: Hydraulic -- 50 gpm and 1800 psi max; speed -- unit shall be two speed, low is approx. 250 fpm (min) and high 500 fpm (min); line pull is to be based on a 20 inch minimum drum radius, pull capacity at low speed shall be approx. 5000 pounds and at high speed approx. 2500 pounds; the reel shall have free spool capability be provided with all necessary deck controls, shall be designed to fit the existing foundation pattern on the ship; all materials shall be suitable for use in the marine environment. All non-corrosion resistant metal shall be preserved using an epoxy paint system of at least three coats and all non-stainless steel hydraulic fittings shall be wrapped with Denzo tape; the manufacturer shall be present for initial startup and testing aboard the vessel after delivery of net reel.
