No. 00SI100813 is currently available. We will issue the solicitation
on or about August 18, 2000. The estimated price range of the work is
between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Copies of solicitation will be
provided upon receipt of $65.00 each, nonrefundable, payable to the
Bureau of Reclamation by check, money order, VISA or MasterCard. The
work performed will take place at the Pump/Generator Plant at the Grand
Coulee Dam. The principal components of the work to be performed is to
enhance life safety and fire protection of the plant and includes the
following: Constructing fire barriers and installing fire doors,
installing and alarm and detection system which upon detection of a
fire shall provide local alarms and remote indications via existing and
new contractor installed alarm, annunciator, and detection equipment
manufactured by Pyrotronics, Cerberus Technologies, Inc.; installing or
modifying existing sprinkler systems; installing motor operated
fire/smokedampers in existing ductwork or at new locations; installing
a ventilation fans to provide active smoke removal capability;
existing fire water systems are to be upgraded to improve system
performance and to provide water to new fire suppression systems; three
new interior structural steel stairways are to be installed;
miscellaneous construction consisting of roofing. To support the
installation of some of the above noted features, it will be necessary
to perform concrete coring, concrete saw cutting, architectural
demolition, and HVAC demolition. Emergency lighting and exit signs are
to be installed throughout the Pump/Generator Plant. Lighting system
modifications, lighting distribution system extensions, and extensions
of existing embedded conduit and cable systems to maintain circuits is
