58 -- VIDEOCONFERENCING EQUIPMENT SOL F08948 DUE 072400 POC Dee Gibson, Contract Administrator, 301 827-7177 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information in the notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number F08948 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a brand name or equal to a Polycom ViewStation DCP 512. The Food and Drug Administration's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, Office of Telecommunications has the need for four [4] high quality, easy to use group videoconferencing systems which can be compatible to a Concord 4500 to deliver 30 frames per second, full-motion videoconferencing up to 512 kbps. The Polycom system consist of the following: PLCM-VS-512 Polycom ViewStation 512, Quad BRI interface with Bonding Protocol, 30 frames per second, pan/tilt/12xzoom/autofocus IR camera, hand held grip sensitive infrared remote, PIP, Dual monitor ready, phone add-on for two wire systems, auto-ISDN and auto-IP for quick installation and setup, embedded Web server, Ethernet Connection and a Gold Seal 5 Program for each system. Award is expected to be made no later than July 28 2000 with an expected delivery date of August 18 2000. Inspection and acceptance shall be made at destination. The contractor shall extend to the Government full coverage of any standard commercial warranty normally offered in a similar commercial sale.
