B -- NUTRIENT TESTING AND ANALYSIS USDA, ARS, AFM, PPD, Contracts Branch intends to issue a bilateral modification against an on-going IDIQ contract with E.N.I. Laboratories (a small business) to increase the maximum ceiling amount by $100,000. This sole source modification will support Fiscal Year 2000 task orders for nutrient food testing and analysis. E.N.I. Laboratories is the only company who can perform these analyses without incurring substantial costs and causing an unacceptable delay. The contract with E.N.I. Laboratories included option periods, which if exercised, would extend through August 15, 2002. A new requirement is being developed to support nutrient testing and analysis, and is anticipated to be awarded on a competitive basis. To ensure that nutrient testing and analysis continues until USDA can definitize its requirement, the current contract needs to be increased by $100,000.
