of a pathological waste incinerator, replacement of the stack and
building modifications. A pre-proposal conference/site visit will be
conducted. The estimated magnitude of the project is between $250,000.
and $500,000. Location of the incinerator is at the U.S. Geological
Survey, Biological Resources Division, National Wildlife Health Center
(NWHC), Madison, WI;. Solicitation may be ordered by Fax (612)

not be accepted. A summary of the upgrade work includes; Demolition,
removal, transportation and disposal of portions of the existing
incinerator "Consumat Model 75-P, controlled air-type dual fuel,
pathological waste incinerators rated to burn up to 175 lb/hr of Type
IV pathological waste" including stack and appurtenant equipment.
Manufacture, installation and demonstration of upgrades to the existing
pathological waste incinerator. Replacement of the existing secondary
chamber and stack. Replacement of the existing controls and
instrumentation. Replacement/upgrade of the existing lower and upper
chamber burner and valve train systems. Utility and building
modifications as required including structural steel support, natural
gas supply, piping extensions, electrical wiring, roof repair and
painting. The contractor is not responsible for air emissions testing
. The performance period for the contract shall not exceed 22 weeks
from date of award. The on-site performance period including
demolition, installation, construction and demonstration shall not
exceed 12 weeks (no interruptions). Facility: a. Research Building
Background -- The National Wildlife Health Center (NWHC) is the only
federal facility devoted exclusively to the diagnosis, prevention and
control of diseases of wildlife. The Research Building is a highly
infectious disease facility and operates in accordance with National
Institues for Health and Centers for Disease Control for Biological
Safety Level 3 research. Access to the Research Building is restricted.
Prior to demolition, installation of the incinerator modifications,
controls and stack, the construction area within the Research Building
shall be decontaminated by the Government. The Government shall
install barriers to prevent access into the laboratory area and
prevention of disease into the construction area. There should not be
any reason for the contractor to enter the laboratory area. b. New
requirements -- The contractor shall be responsible for making all
