4018412543 Ext.111 The work includes but is not limited to the
following: remove pipe chase walls (CMU with ceramic glaze structural
clay tile facing). Remove all urinal and lavatory sanitary drains and
vents (including risers between floors) within restrooms at Building
197 CP (12 restrooms total). Perform asbestos abatement on potable
water line pipeline insulation servicing urinals and lavatories.
Reinstate potable water lines with asbestos free insulation. Install
new urinal and lavatory sanitary drain and vent piping (provide new
work complete and ready for operation). Install new pipe chase walls
(CMU with ceramic glazed structural clay facing tile). Remove and
reinstall existing urinals and lavatories (install new fittings,
gaskets, and miscellaneous materials as required to reconnect existing
fixtures to drain and vent piping. The contract will be awarded with
a Base Bid on One (1) Option if exercised by the Contracting Officer.
A brief description of Base Bid and Option is as follows: Base Bid:
Building 197 CP, the work includes nine (9) restrooms: room numbers are
0105,0205,0305,0112,0212,0312,0124,0224, and 0324 located on three (3)
floors. Work to be performed as described above, and as shown on the
construction drawings. The completion time for the base bid scope of
work is 135 calendar days after contract award.Option 1: Three (3)
restrooms at Building 197 CP. The work includes room numbers
0130,0230,0330 located on three (3) floors. Work to be performed as
described as above, and as shown on the construction drawings. This
option can be exercised at the time of award or within 60 days after
award. If Option 1 is exercised the contract completion time will be
extended by 45 calendar days. Evaluation of options will not obligate
the government to exercise the option(s). This solicitation is issued
is Small Business Set Aside. The standard industrial classification
code (SIC) is 1623 and the size standard $17.0 million. The estimated
cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. Davis Bacon Wages are
applicableto this project. The ESTIMATED bid opening date is 22 AUG
2000. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE IN THE CONTRACTS
OFFICE. Per Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996, the Defense
Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) has been amended to
require all contractors to register in the Department of Defense (DOD)
Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database. Be advised for
solicitations issued after May 31, 1998, failure to register in the CCR
makes an offeror ineligible for award of DOD contracts. Information
regarding this registration may be obtained by accessing the website at
www.ccr.dlsc.dla.mil or by referring to DFARS Subpart 204.73. Offerors
should submit verification of their firm's registration in the CCR
