Wyle Laboratories has a requirement for a portable,
microgravity-compatible instrument containing both a UV/Vis
(Ultraviolet and visible light) spectrophotometer and a turbidimeter
for use in the analysis of portable water on the International Space
Station. The instrument will require ancillary hardware to automate
sample introduction, de-gassing and analysis. The instrument should be
capable of the accuracy of typical COTS devices. Command, control and
data acquisition functions may be performed by either an internal
microprocessor or by an external (Windows 95) laptop computer. There
will be a prototype, two flight units and a trainer. Prospective
offerors should notify this office of their interest in submitting a
proposal. Qualification statements are requested. Posted 06/21/00
