This synopsis/solicitation for commercial items is prepared in
accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This solicitation
document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect
through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-17. This is a small business
set-aside. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 4226 with a
corresponding size standard of $18.5 million. The Department of the
Treasury, Financial Management Service (FMS), 401 14th Street, SW,
Washington, DC, 20227, is seeking sources of a commercial, off-site
storage/retrieval facility and transportation service for various forms
of computer data storage media (including magnetic tape, data
cassettes, and other media that may become available in the market
place). Interested vendors must be qualified electronic computer media
storage contractors, certified to industry standards for the storage
and protection of magnetic computer media against fire, physical
intrusion, magnetic field interference, and other normal hazards, and
who will provide secure courier services and bar code-based media
management services. Place of performance: Department of the Treasury,
FMS, 3700 East-West Highway, Hyattsville, MD, 20782. Anticipated date
of award is on or before October 1, 2000. The period of performance of
this IDIQ contract will include a base year (October 1, 2000 through
September 30, 2001) with four one-year options available. FAR 52.212-1,
Instructions to Offerors (MAR 2000) applies to this acquisition and is
incorporated by reference. FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items
applies to this acquisition. FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and
Certifications -Commercial Items (FEB 2000) apply to this acquisition.
