Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for a Local Readout Ground
Station (LRGS) to automatically receive and process satellite telemetry
data from numerous data collection platforms across Georgia. The LRGS
must be a turnkey installation that receives and archives data from the
NOAA/NESDIS DCS DOMSTAT data stream. The system must be able to provide
near 100% data reception by being able to be integrated into the USGS
backup network of LRGS units. The system must also be able to
incorporate the USGS DECODES software to be able to operate as a
stand-alone data receiver and decoder unit during severe hydrologic
events. The USGS anticipates awarding the purchase order to Ilex
Engineering of Ellicott City, MD. This company is the only authorized
dealer of Integral Systems', the original manufacturer, LRGS turnkey
system. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY; no formal
RFQ will be available.. This award will be made on or about 26 June
2000, under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $100,000,00. Any
Vendors who can prove they can provide exact LRGS system are invited to
provide affirmative response to this notice by faxing request to the CO
at 703-648-7901. An affirmative response must include, but not limited
to, offered products, price lists, warranties, and any additional
information indicating a bona fide ability to meet this requirement.
All responses must be received in this office within 10 calendar days
from the date this publication first appears. All responses must be in
