project requires the contractor to be responsible for supplying all
labor, materials, equipment, freight, and delivery, and all necessary,
valid licenses and permits required to demolish the existing buildings
(wood-frame, block, and metal), concrete foundations and flat work, and
associated utilities; remove or recover existing asphalt surfacing,
remove existing aggregate base, concrete aprons, taxi-lanes, access
roads, and fencing and construct new buildings with associated
utilities, parking areas, sidewalks, fencing and gates, taxi-lanes,
aprons, access roads, and retardent loading pads. Final access to the
site will be changed from Wildcat Way to Newcomb Street. Utilities to
be removed include electrical systems and equipment; communications
system, tower, and equipment; underground propane gas piping; portions
of underground water systems; subsurface waste treatment systems; and
the complete above and below ground retardent distribution system.
Lead-based paint on existing facilities will beabated under this
contract. Work to construct the new facilities include excavation and
earthmoving; placement of aggregate base, concrete, asphalt,and
aggregate surfacing; installation of surface drainage and subsurface
waste systems, underground water distribution system (including
stub-outs and sleeves for future underground irrigation system),
natural gas underground distribution systems, electrical and
communication distribution equipment and associated underground
distribution systems, retardent distribution piping and raceway
complete with automated valve system, (the above ground component of
the retardent distrbution system is existing), undergroung storm drain
collection system, construction of three new buildings (wood-frame and
metal) complete with electrical, communications, water, fire
suppression, wastewater, cooling, and heating systems. Other work
includes final site grading. Estimated cost is between $1,000,000 and
$5,000,000. Anticipated start work date is October 1, 2000. To prevent
interference with base operations, construction only access off of
Newcomb Street must be created first. This access shall be at the
proposed intersection for the Fire Acess Road. This access road shall
be completed prior to any other work being started at the project site.
The approved progress schedule shall give priority to completing this
access road for the Contractor's use immediately and to constructing
the Loading Pads, retardent distribution system, storm drain colection
system, taxiways apronss, roadways, asphalt surfacing, connection to
existing new retardent mix plant, and associated utilities. This work
must be completed not later than May 1, 2001. All other work may begin
at any time after construction of the Fire Access Road. Completion of
all of the remaining work shall be not later than October 1, 2001.
There will be a non-refundable deposit in the amount of $175.00 for
each set of plans (size 11 x 17) and specifications. (24 x 36 size
