Synopsis/Solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only
solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation
will not be issued for line item 0001 for the quantity of seventy-five
(75) each communication ear plugs and line item 0002, two (2) cases of
20 each size per case of the mixed sizes canal tips for the Tennessee
Army National Guard, Army Aviation Support Facility #1, Smyrna, TN. The
communication ear plugs will consist of the following specifications:
two foam rubber ear plugs similar in size and appearance to be ones
commonly used by military pilots. Within the plugs will be miniature
speaker each connected by wire to a transducer which in turn connects
to the communications system through the mating connector mounted on
the rear of the aviators helmet. The communication ear plug short wire
should be designed to fit into the right ear. The objective is to
place the compressed eartip into the earcanal and allow it to expand
into the volume. The purpose is to reproduce speech signals from the
aircraft Intercommunications System. The CEP allows the aviator to
retain dual hearing protection while greatly enhancing the
intelligibility of cockpit communications. The Government finds the CEP
Unit Number EX-CEP or equal to be within the specifications required.
The foam tips are to be available in three sizes: standard, short and
slim. Contractor will submit descriptive literature in addition to the
quote by close of business 26 June 2000. FOB -- Destination. Facsimile
(Faxed) or Telegraphic quotes will not be accepted. All amendments, if
issued, must be acknowledged in writing, referencing the Request for
Quote Number, and amendment number. Submit to USPFO for Tennessee,

This Request for Quote is prepared IAW FAR Subpart 12.6. This
announcement constitutes the only Request for Quote. A written Request
for Quote, (SF 18) will not be issued. This Quote Number,
DAHA40-00-Q-0111 is being issued as a Request for Quote and
incorporates provisions through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-11. SIC
code is 3661. Award shall be based on lowest priced acceptable quote.
The provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and
Certifications (OCT 1995) applies to this RFQ. A completed-signed copy
of this provision shall be submitted with any quote. The clause at FAR
52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial Items (APR 1998),
and clause 252-211.7003 Brand Name or Equal applies to this
acquisition. The clause at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions
