United States Special Operations Command is contemplating on issuing a
solicitation for support for the History and Research Office for a
base year plus four option year periods on a firm fixed price basis.
The purpose of this synopsis is to determine the availability of
HUBZone small business firms to assist in the areas of researching and
analyzing past special operations, write and publish historical
studies of special operations. This requirement will need personnel
that have knowledge and skills to independently conduct historical
research projects, analyze and synthesize vast quantities of
documentation (both written and verbal), and produce clear, concise,
and analytical narratives. These narratives must describe the important
course of events and analyze the key issues pertaining to Special
Operations Forces and USSOCOM. The studies must be understandable to
those unfamiliar with special operations. The proposal will require
samples of previous works to demonstrate his or her ability to produce
well-written, analytical, coherent, and fully documented studies. Must
possess a current SECRET clearance. Preferably be familiar with SOF
capabilities, missions, and functions. Preferably be familiar with MS
Word software. The requirement will also require a transcriber with
expert knowledge of MS Word, correct spelling, grammar, and
punctuation. Requires typing skill of 35 words per minute with no more
than three errors per page of double-spaced typescript. Requires
unimpaired hearing. Preferably be experienced in the use of
transcription machines. It is anticipated that the Standard Industrial
Code assigned will be 8743. All interested HUBZone small business
firms that can meet these requirements should reply in written format
