The Naval Air Systems Command proposes to enter into a sole source contract with Targa Electronic Systems, Incorporated, 2411A Plantation Center Drive, Mathews, NC 28105 for the procurement of 20 DOS Data Image Transfer Systems and 30 2MB E/Flash Cartridges. Targa is the sole developer of the memory cartridge electrical interfaces that permits the holder to identify memory type, memory capacity and to read or write data via Targa defined algorithms. The removable memory cartridges and associated holder receptables, as used in the GACT/GRAD tester, are proprietary products of Targa and the memory Cartridge Mechanical form factor is a unique Targa design. The memory cartridge mechnical form factor will facilitate the insertion and removal of the cartridge without removing power and when inserted into the Targa holder, it provides a positive cartridge interlock for high shock and vibration environments.
