This project DCS-069 (00) requires the replacement of light fixtures, smoke detectors for a Simplex fire alarm system and the installation of strobe light annunciators. The work consists of the following: removing and properly disposing of light fixtures containing PCB ballasts, installing new lights which are updated energy efficient lighting with electronic start ballasts and T-8 tubes, replacing smoke detectors in chemical storage rooms, removing existing ceilings and HVAC diffusers, and replacing the ceilings with a 2 inch x 2 inch grids laying in the tiles and fixtures, and replacing the existing emergency lighting control panels with updated types. The work will be performed at the U.S. Geological Survey's Upper Midwest Environmental Science Center located at 2630 Fanta Reed Road in La Crosse Wisconsin. The SIC Code for this requirement is 1731. The magnitude of the construction is between $100,000 and $250,000. This is an unrestricted acquisition. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency. All work will be conducted as detailed in th e construction plans and drawings.
