The Albuquerque Area Indian Health Services (IHS) will be soliciting Proposals from prospectice contractors for providing a study/analysis of End-of-Life Care to a defined population of Elderly Native Americans. The result of this study would serve as a foundation for institutional and community changes to better meet the needs of Native American elders with life threating and chronic conditions. Contractor must have extensive knowledge and experience conducting epidemiological research. Previous research efforts in the areas of Native American Health, Medical Record and Death Certificate analysis, and chronic disease is desirable. Contractor must have experience in designing, analyzing, writing, conducting and publishing research projects. The Contractor will be utilizing IHS data and should be familiar with IHS facilities, Tribes and providers within the Albuquerque Area Indian Health Services. Contractor will utilize three sources of information: death certificates, Patient Care Component (PCC) dataand medical Charts. The award of any contract resulting from this solicitation will be made to the responsible offeror whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, will be most advantageious to the Government. The technical proposal will receive paramount consideration in the selection of the Contractor.
